Late 2019 saw a get together of the Black Swan State Theatre Company and their contributors and donors to thank them for their generous support over the year.
The balmy evening began at the beachside heritage home of Black Swan Chair Nicola Forrest, where VIP guests enjoyed a sweeping view of the Cottesloe coastline on the wraparound balcony. Seafood-inspired canapés and Sandalford wines made the rounds as Aboriginal Elder Barry McGuire Welcomed all to Country.
After a stunning cellist performance, guests were taken on a flowing tour throughout the house into the courtyard, where a Tattarang Gin Bar and fresh-shucked oyster bar were waiting. As the sun set over the courtyard, a showcase of Black Swan’s past and future productions were projected onto the back wall alongside a smooth live performance by the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Bloody mary shots in hand, guests were treated to a sneak peek of the theatre’s upcoming ‘Cloudstreet’ production, with a captivating monologue by Ian Michael. The evening ended with a word from Nicola Forrest and Black Swan, thanking all for their continuous support.
