Subi Coffee Series

Client | City of Subiaco

Location | Rokeby, Hay and Subi’s laneways woven between them

Subiaco transformed into a coffee wonderland from 5-14 August, with immersive workshops and specials along Subi’s buzzing epicurean scene. Team KAE were tasked with creating a unique program suitable for java-newbies and coffee connoisseurs, with subtle hints of Euro coffee culture to transport locals across the globe through their senses.

With just shy of 30 businesses involved, we were able to highlight spectacular coffee experiences at new venues and long-time neighbourhood favourites along Rokeby, Hay Street and Subi’s woven laneways.

To ignite the series, we hosted a ‘Mystery Night in Subiaco’ launch event with nine select media personalities - an immersive sneak peek into the series with flavoursome martinis, hands-on workshops, and a surprise limo ride.

The sold-out workshop series launched with Jordan and Anna Bruno sharing their family Tiramisu recipe with an intimate masterclass at Accent Cafe, followed by a Coffee Making Masterclass with Leftfield at The Little Pantry, and fast forward to a high-energy Espresso Martini Masterclass with Cocktail Gastronomy. In-between, the gastronomic workshops were Coffee Watercolour Painting, Ceramic Mug Painting, Candle Making and Coffee Scrub classes.

The specials were (kinda) endless, with incredible offers, pop-up events and java-inspired menus across Subi’s cosy cafes.

One of our series highlights had to be the Late Night Martini Trail, which saw five venues’ mixologists put their skills to the test to create a unique Espresso Martini. Shoutout to Bark Bar, Cherubino City Cellar, Subi Hotel, El Peruvian, Fenway, Your Local, Refuge Small Bar and The Village for your caffeinated concoctions!

Team KAE had a blast brewing spectacular java experiences with local businesses to showcase Subi’s bustling high-street culture!
